Our businesses are all different, but we have a few things in common.

We’re a friendly bunch with a wide range of creative and professional skills. We value community and creativity, and we strive to make each day at work productive and purposeful. We’re about community over competition, and we share skills, knowledge, and networks where possible.

JASMINE PHILLIPS

Brand strategist, designer, artist and Queen Bee (a.k.a owner at the Hive)

Jasmine is your go-to for membership inquiries and venue bookings for The Business Hive.

She’s also Founder and Creative Director at Wild Honey Creative, a boutique design studio crafting intentional, soulful brands and websites for communities, lifestyle brands, health & wellness experts, educators, and creatives.

Jasmine is a former TV and radio journalist turned branding expert, who’s passionate about all things creative. With a diverse background in visual and performing arts, you’ll find Jasmine sipping chai between dance breaks, and rolling out the yoga matt come knock off time. 

KATE Mcgain

Designer & Web Developer

Kate gets excited helping businesses portray their true personalities through their visual communication and messaging.

Kate has a background in graphic, three-dimensional and multimedia design, as well as fine art and loves the endless possibilities of web development. You can find her volunteering at Kyogle Community Gym, the Roxy Gallery, helping to run Eden Creek Pictures and producing WOB literary zine with her partner.

She’s a big fan of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, podcasts, laughing and sleeping well over the recommended amount.

THOR PHILLIPS

Sound & Audio Technician + all round good guy

 Thor is a master of many trades! As The Amp Pro he is a sound and audio technician, fixing professional audio and music gear and is one of the rare authorised Yamaha repairers on the East Coast.  You’ll also catch him doing live sound and lighting at festivals and events, as well as playing guitar and singing.

Thor helps out at Wild Honey Creative doing audio engineering and videography, and if that’s not enough he also works as a part-time firefighter with NSW Fire+Rescue.

He’s clearly living up to his super hero namesake… We told you he was an all round good guy!

Iyengar Yoga Instructor

Carma Yoga Zone has classes to suit all levels. Beginners welcome.

Carmela Taylor is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher with many years experience.

Carma Yoga classes are held here at the Business Hive on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5.30pm.

Reservations are essential as space is limited.

The cost is $15 and classes run for approx 1 hour. Mats, bolsters and blankets are available, or BYO if you prefer. All enquires and bookings to Carmela on 0407 615 041. See our events page for more info.

Author Jarrah Dundler at The Business Hive

Author

Jarrah Dundler is a published author, but he’s also worked as a grant writer, pizza-chef, uni tutor, barista, and a stonemason’s labourer… Aaah the diversity!

His debut novel Hey Brother, about the challenges faced by a teenage boy when his brother returns from war, was selected for a Byron Writers Festival Residential Mentorship, a Varuna fellowship and shortlisted for the The Australian/Vogel Literary Award.

He’s now writing from The Business Hive thanks to an ‘artist-in-residency’ program from the Kyogle Writer’s Festival and Kyogle Council.

Mikala Maloney - Innner Journeys with Makala

MIKALA MALONEY

Vinyasa Yoga Instructor and Women’s Gatherings Coordinator.

Mikala is a Yoga teacher with 8 years teaching experience and has been initiated into Sacred Women’s Mystery teachings. Mikala works in the community as a Youth Project Worker and runs Yoga, Movement and Sacred Women’s classes, gatherings and retreats through her small business Inner Journeys with Mikala. Mikala is passionate about learning and sharing ways to live in sacred relationship with the earth, community and ones self.

She shares her gifts with you in weekly Yoga Classes and Bi-Monthly Women’s Gatherings throughout the year. See our events page for more info.
